Renew Your Mind

Hi sweet friend!

January starts out with high hopes of accomplishing so much in the new year. I find myself, in the last week of the month, needing a time to renew.

Romans 12:2 says, "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." (ESV)

I don't know about you, but I can get fixated on a problem or worry and lose sight of Jesus. But praise God, He doesn't lose sight of us!!

Paul's encouragement here is by renewing our mind, our hearts are transformed. When our hearts are transformed, we can discern what is "good, acceptable, and perfect."

But what does it mean to renew our mind? Dictionary.com defines renew as "to restore or replenish" or "to revive/reestablish."

For me, getting out in nature, like Grand Teton National Park or listening to God-honoring music helps me to restore and revive my mind on the Lord and His Word.

I wanted to include a Spotify playlist with a collection of worship songs that spans the last 30+ years. All you need is a free Spotify account. Hope you are encouraged this week!
