I saw this on Facebook...

Hey sweet friend,

I saw this thing on Facebook and I wanted to shoot you a quick email to let you know about this while it’s still fresh on my mind.

Yes, it’s something funny.. and also super relevant to your goal of doing some soul-care this year!

I saw this on Facebook and immediately thought of emailing you because there’s such a valuable teaching moment present right there!

We all have issues, but the good news is, we don't have to wait to fix it ourselves before we can come to Jesus and hang out with Him. Ephesians 1:4-5 says, "...even as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him. In love, He predestined us for adoption to Himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will..." (ESV)

Wow, there is so much goodness in these two verses. Did you catch that He picked you? On purpose, out of love for you. This was before you could accomplish being the best wife, the best mother, the best manager, the best small group leader, and the best CEO. He wanted to adopt you, choose you, pick you, love you, before the foundation of the world. Long before you or I could try to earn it.

This Facebook meme shows something - we all are hot messes that just want to be loved and accepted...and guess what...you are if you are a child of God. And you can be if you are not yet His child.

It reminded me that we make things so difficult for ourselves when things can be so easy! One of the steps of my Soul-Care Checklist is to trust in God's character. Ephesians describes a piece of God's love for you. You are loved and chosen, seen and heard, adopted, and His child. Rest and enjoy that truth today!

To master the day, rely on the Master of the Day for your feeling of worth, and identity, and know you are immensely loved!

Blessings,

Stephanie
